About Torrado Construction

Torrado Construction was established in 1995 by Luis E Torrado, a North Philadelphia native. Luis has been President and Owner of Torrado Construction Company Inc., a privately held General Construction Firm specializing in commercial construction, renovations and rehabilitations, concrete, removal services and painting services. Luis E Torrado was nominated as a Rising Constructor in Construction Today Magazine because of his exceptional skills as a professional, perfection driven contractor. Luis grew his successful business from its humble beginnings run from his parent’s home in 1995 into the Multi-disciplined Contracting Firm that it is today.

Luis’s parents came to the United States from Puerto Rico in the 1950’s and settled into a tight knit Spring Garden neighborhood. Starting out, Torrado Construction Inc., faced obstacles as every small business owner would in 1995. Commercial construction in the public arena requires a proven track record, but Luis started the company with no reputation, no history, and no references. Luis believed that he could be successful not only because of the work ethic instilled in him by his parents, but also through education and hard work. Luis worked in construction while attending school at the Community College of Philadelphia, Temple University’s School of Architecture and Drexel University for Construction Management.

Luis E Torrado felt he could be most successful in the construction industry based on his training and education. Luis has a good understanding of people, both personal and professional; he understands the everyday situations that occur in owning and running a small minority business. Torrado Construction Company Inc., now based in Port Richmond, has grown into a business that is challenging and exciting. Luis E Torrado feels a responsibility to his minority community as well as neighborhood community and continues to hire employees from his local area as an equal opportunity employer. Whenever possible Torrado Construction purchases from local businesses and supports local charities by participating regularly in community projects. Luis feels Torrado Construction has an obligation to share the success of the company locally, in hopes that others in his community will benefit from his home grown success.
